Weber Shandwick’s Pro Bono Program
Our giving program, aptly named Impact Project, is dedicated to bringing together our employees’ individual causes, our corporate resources and our professional skillsets to give back to our community at all levels. Our efforts range from providing a year’s worth of pro bono public relations services to one nonprofit annually to organizing half-day work projects throughout the year on behalf of nonprofits recommended by our employees as needing extra hands. Our efforts are channeled through three main programs: pro bono partnership, Telling Your Story workshop and Weber Shandwick On Loan.
Pro Bono Program: Our Team, Working for Yours
Our pro bono program is focused on supporting nonprofits in Minnesota that help to close the opportunity gap. Their emphasis could be in a variety of areas from youth development and crisis intervention to diversity or educational programs. Each summer, eligible nonprofit organizations are invited to submit their application for consideration as our agency’s annual pro bono client. We select one nonprofit from those applicants and partner with them as we do with every account on our client roster. A 3-4 member account team works with the client throughout the year on a PR strategy, and we provide funding for the execution of that strategy. The organization we select as our pro bono client will receive communications consulting, training and services aligned with the organization’s needs. The primary goal is to direct the organization on a path to self-sustained communications after Weber Shandwick’s pro bono engagement has concluded.
